Modern Warfare’s Stimulus Package Is Live, Broken (Updated, Fixed)

Just when you thought we might be able to stop running stories about Infinity Ward an Activision screwing something else up, the much debated (overpriced) Stimulus Package has gone live this morning, bringing with it a myriad of problems and errors, including:
Multiplayer lobbies not working.
Images for maps not showing up.
No option to play private matches.
Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb, head of the Xbox Live team, writes via twitter:
The Stimulus Package needs a Title Update and it didn’t go out properly. We’re pushing it out now – it won’t be long
However, as of writing this, the time is 9AM Central, and it’s still not been fixed. Hryb’s second tweet says they are still working on a fix.
I feel it’s important to also mention that, due to a deal who’s numbers have never been disclosed to the public, the DLC is currently only available to Xbox 360 owners, with PS3 and PC to follow at a later date. Certainly seems curious to limit DLC to one console and then royal mess it up.
UpdateHryb’s posted an update to twitter indicating an update is live and should fix the problem. No word as of yet as to what problems that update may cause.

Some people, including us here at the Gamerz Zone, are still having problems with connecting to the Xbox Live servers. Be not afraid, you are not alone.
UpdateThe Xbox LIVE support team has published a blog detailing the cause of the problems. Most issues are fixed, with some intermittent issues with account payments still possible.

Dude, I downloaded this shit, go to get on the game and it says: disconnected from xbox live; you need to DL this update first or you will be unable to play on live. Ive done this before, easy peasy japaniesy right? But as soon as I go to DL the update, it says I need to be connected to xbox live! and then as soon as it reverts me to the fucking dashboard it reconnects me to xbox live!!! What.. the.. F*#@
I think maybe it just a glitch, so I pop in a differnt game I know needs an update done, and it askes for it. I accept and the shit goes through without a hitch in less then 5 seconds.. Pop in MW2 and it does the same shit.
Not only do I agree with everyone else that this map pack was horridly overpriced, but now that I have DL'ed it I cant even play live anymore! without the update It disconnects me and wont let me do anything. DId I just blow $15 so I couldn't play live? I feel as if I should get some compensation for this crap, like half off this botchy DL thats done nothing for me except to make me aggitated and pissed off.

I downloaded the pack, tried to get into some Stimulus playlist games and it didn't work. Went into the regular playlists and, after some very annoying glitches (black screens, freezing requiring a reboot) managed to get into a team deathmatch.
I am currently sat in a pre game lobby and everything seems to be ok, except that my headset is no longer being recognised as plugged in, meaning people's voices are coming through the TV speakers and I can't talk to anyone, has this happened to anyone else? I've never had any problems with this mic before, but don't want to try it with another game in case I can't get back on Live.
Once the update was released my mic worked fine again, weee-iiird!
Affecting the mic is unusual. What kind was it, wireless or wired?
It was a wired mic, the new kind with the in-line volume control, not the superior old kind where you didn't have to move your hands off the pad to mute your mic.
Very odd. I haven't heard of anyone else having this kind of issue. You ought to try to get in touch with the Xbox Support team and see what the deal was.

I didn't even download it and my MW2 disk won't let me update! Keeps saying that it can't do so and that I should contact Xbox Support. Just hoping that isn't happening to just me. I updated stuff fine the other day, probably is a widespread error
