Hahaha, naw, where we are, in Anchorage, we don't get the whole 24 hr dark thing goin on. At most our shortest length of sunlight will be about 2 hrs and thats near the winter solstice :) Also, Barrow doesn't reallly get completely dark like that during that time, it just gets really.......... uhm, dim for about 2 months.

not true... it gets pitch black up there for a month straight... and the sun never goes away for a month straight in the summer but the rest of the year it just kinda......does something.

that was a pretty cool movie. the sun doesn't go down that fast though, i don't think. like where it's there one minute and then 10 seconds later it's gone for a month... i should get the info. on that one.

In Barrow? It doesn't get pitch black, it gets all bluehueish twilighty. I mean, it gets dark, but not THAT dark, and it's for longer then a month.

it goes down in the winter... a lot :D
actually though sunlight all the time has it's benefits in the summer cuz then when you go camping... and ya start hearing twigs snapping in the woods... you can see what's doing it O.o but other than that... it's a pain in the ass to stay on schedule.
when we first got back up here, we took the kids out to eat and i couldn't figure out why they were so damn cranky till i just glanced at the clock and i was like WTF??? IT'S MIDNIGHT!!! OM MY GOD! DAMNIT!!! you tend to lose track that way lol. and what was worse was i finally realized why everyone kept lookin at me weird... they probably thought i was the type to just let my kids do what they wanted and stay up however late they wanted... which i do... but to a point

oh it's got it's benefits...imagine driving down a highway that's got moose packed in a field (naturally, i might add... not farmed or nothing like that, it's all completely wildlife) and so you can see if one (or even three or five or ten) decides to run across the road at midnight. therefore, you can avoid it 99% of the time instead of not seeing it jump out in front of your headlights in the pitch black and end up hitting it, it goes flying into your windshield and if you're lucky, it doesn't stab you in the chest or head with it's antlers or the wind shield glass.
O.o thx 4 giving me horrible death by moose images
