Series creator Goichi Suda has made it clear in an recent interview that he has no more interesting in having another No More Heroes title on the Wii. He recently told Edge (video game magazine) that he wants to expand No More Heroes to other consoles as he feels his own series has more potential and can be expanded beyond its horizons. "I really want to make NMH big franchise, and with this second episode have bigger success. I’m putting a lot of care into developing this IP, as I feel there’s a lot of potential," Suda said. "I think this is the last NMH that is going to be developed on Wii," he added. "To expand NMH to new possibilities, we need a new platform. Wii is a great platform, but we’ve done everything we can with it now," he added. No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle (NMH2) will be the last one on the Wii. Coming from an Wii owner, it really saddens me to say that he not having an excellent franchise continue its exclusive titles on the Wii.... Why is he doing this? Well considering Nintendo did promote tons of titles @ E3, even The Conduit got its own video score. But No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle did not have no promotion at all. That could be one of the reasons Suda is going to another console. Other reasons can include that he wants to increase sells of No More Heroes and probably wants to promote and expand the popularity of his NMH franchise. But really abandoning Nintendo is a terrible idea in my opinion. Anybody remember Conker or Perfect Dark or even Banjo-Kazooie? Those three franchises left Nintendo and are doing terrible in sales and popularity wise right now.
But now its leaving Nintendo, lets look at his franchise from another perspective. Think of Natal of the 360 and the PS3 wand. Do you all think Suda wants to expand the motion control of the game? Providing that the current HD consoles we have now have better motion controls that Nintendo currently provides. It will sadden me if it becomes true of better motion controls than the Wii. But only time will tell.
