Nintendo just sent out an email to all Club Nintendo members regarding their Elite Status Rewards. Platinum members are now able to choose from either a wearable Mario hat replica or a special edition of Punchout from Wiiware. Gold members get a calender. Pictures after the jump.

I choose the Mario hat. Mainly because I hate my Wii and I like wearing hats. Expect me to post a video when I receive it in November.

Instead, we get to choose between a $.99 calendar that is just an ad for the games that are coming out, a $5 hat, or a fucking DEMO for a game - and it isn't even on disc! And I thought that the items that you had to spend points on were cheap/lame.

guys. they're meant to ship out before the end of the year. you still have about 4 months before you're allowed to bitch.

imagine, if you will, the shoes nintendo is in. imagine their logic that "oh yeah, people will LOVE Doc Louis in Punch-Out! IT's DLC for a game, we've never done that with a first-party title! It's impressive! Who the fuck wants a Mario hat???" and proven dead wrong. Imagine if they only made 5,000 to start, and now have to up that to 500,000. If not more. Imagine the delays that is now causing, how much production and shipping and everything is now backed up.

Now Dec. 31, 2009 is a valid waiting date.

If I were a Club Nintendo member and I actually got involved in it until Platinum status, I would have gotten the Punch-Out Doc Louis thing.
