Xbox Live will be down for up to 24 hours on September 29.
I'm assuming Games for Windows will be down as well.
It is, after all, Xbox Live minus the zing.

Microsoft are upgrading their servers so when it launches, this November, there will be minimal lag.
The downtime will begin on September 29 at 12:01 PST and is expected to last until 11:59 PST.
And no, there won't be any new features when the service resumes.
