Has anybody seen it? It's absolutely my favorite anime, and IMO one of the best.

Great show, gets slow near the end and the last two episodes were a bitch to watch, but overall it's great.

I prefer watching death/rebirth as the ending instead.

I agree with mouse. It's not the best though.

If you read backstory about the author, thanks Scotty, you can see why the anime is the way that it is. He just got out of depression, thus the darkness at all, but as the series was going, he started to fall back into depression. This explains the slowness and then then "holy crap wtf?" sort of thing at the end. Just started to get depressed.

I watched all of the series maybe some three years ago. I have to say I need to watch it again, but when I first saw it I was completely mesmorised. I thought about it for many days nonstop, and then I just forgot about it for a while. A while being, 'till today. I think that's what I'll busy myself with, is a NGE marathon.

Well, there is a bit of a lag in the middle and the last two episodes are pretty grating to watch through.

Still, any anime fan has see it once. So many anime nowadays take from this show it's funny.

if you stop the series right before instrumentality takes place and watch the end of evangelion movie instead its so much better. thats only because the creator got death threats about the way he ended the series but its still awesome.
