I'm reading Dubliners by James Joyce for English class. I don't really get it for the most part but meh.
For my own independent reading, I just finished Naomi and Ely's No Kiss list by Rachel Cohn. I liked it.
Now I'll probably start re-reading Eragon and Eldest, so I can then read Brsinger.

I reading Ender's Game. Someone gave me this book and I started reading it recently.

For some reason I did not like that book.
To me, it made the author seem like a
pedo.

I'm finishing up Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Third time I've read the series from book one to book seven straight (and by straight I mean over the course of the last four months.)
I've never read The Dark Tower series, but I've heard good things, so a trip to the book store is in order.

Some dumbass wrote the first one for him and is selling it on ebay. Its basically a huge fanfic, I'm sure. If I had a way to contact the author, I would. Because the guy is selling it for profit, its illegal. Imo, insulting to the author as well.
But eh. w/e.

I know a LOT of people who won't read Song of Fire and Ice because of all the bad crap that happens to uh.... everyone. I laughed so hard at what happened to Cersei and Lessa though.

When I was in college, that was all I had time for. Of course, 99.99% of the entire 4 years I was there, I was taking science, math, and/or history classes. Surprisingly, english was the class where I did the least amount of reading.
Now that I've graduated, I'm sucking up the concept of 'personal reading' while I can.

In my opinion thats what makes the books so amazing. It's reality. It's not the fairy tale world where the good guys always wins like a lot of stories. I was literally pissed off when Rob and his mom were killed. I wanted to be in the book and kill those backstabbing sobs. I love those books. After i'm done with Terry Goodkind (which might take a while good god he has a lot of long books) I am re-reading them.

Definately one of my favorite series. ^_^ I've never been so much into a book where its made me happy/sad/angry. Like you, I was pissed off when Rob was killed. My friend got me into the series and I left him a huge comment on gaia ranting about how pissed I was they killed Rob. I was never a fan of Catelyn because I liked Jon Snow and she didn't. >_>
Thinking about what happened to Cersei made me laugh.

My version of the book has an intro by Douglas Adams. Talks about how the book used to be a radio series and basically how when the book gets taken to a new media, he changes it on purpose, even if it contradicts the other versions. I thought it was pretty funny.
I was in book uh.... 4? 5? I don't remember right now... but I put it down. Arthur's bungling with Fenchurch is hilarious, but I obtained a Serenity rpg rulebook and am determined to be able to GM it starting in a couple of weeks.
